The Sunpocket Tonga is one of the first new designs since the original Sunpocket series hit the slopes in the 1980s.
Similar to the Sunpocket II, which were originally created for gravity sports (i.e. skiing), the arms are rather steep and fit snug behind the ears so they won't fall off when you do somersaults (or bend over to tie your shoe). The plastic frame is made from a lightweight grilamid, a high performance, wear-resistant polyamide, while the polycarbonate lenses provide 100% UV protection and are virtually unbreakable, so if you accidentally fall, you won't smash them.
The sunglasses also come with a compact neoprene carrying case and a soft pouch for cleaning the lenses.
The Sunpocket brand was the epitome of on and off-piste Alpine cool during the '80s. Started as a French company, the brand was recently given a new life by Swedish businessman Jacob Hoglund, who grew up with his parents sporting the frames on Norwegian ski trips.
