A favorite of boutiques and museum shops the world over, Postalco's signature, unadorned notebooks were recently given a makeover when the Abelsons decided to experiment with some new printing techniques. Printing is typically done for the sake of repetition, but Postalco wondered if there were a way to create a machine process that would make something different with every pressing. After a series of trials, they developed the Chance Printer, which produces beautiful ink irregularities on paper. No two notebooks look the same, but each one is simply awesome.

About Postalco:
Based in Tokyo, Postalco began with an interest in the international transport of mail, hence their logo, the carrier pigeon. The company was founded in Brooklyn by Mike and Yuri Abelson—he a product designer, she a graphic designer—though soon established roots in Japan after the couple relocated in 2001. In Tokyo, Postalco found a rich network of craftspeople who allowed them to develop their unique vision for a modern stationary and leather goods company.
