In mid-2012, one of our Twitter followers told us to check out a company called J.L. Lawson & Co. The recommendation would prove apt, as this small venture specialized in the kind of built-to-last, form-follows-function design we love to get our hands on. Founded by Anthony Lawson in Joshua Tree, California, J.L. Lawson & Co. creates machined metal accessories of the heft and quality you rarely find in today's mass production market. 

The Respect Bottle Opener is machined in the USA from cold rolled steel and includes a short length of black paracord with a machined steel end cap. The bottle opener is hand-finished with a black patina followed by a wax coating to help prevent rusting. This is the kind of utilitarian good you'll keep for decades and pass down to the next generation. Measures 2 1/2″ x 3/8″ x 1/2″.
