In early 2011 Michael Cina introduced Ghostly to the formidable talents of Sonnenzimmer, a Chicago-based art and print studio formed by Nicholas Butcher and Nadine Nakanishi. Among their many skills, Sonnenzimmer is prolific in the field of poster art, silk-screening distinctive pieces that combine elements of fine art, graphic design, and typography. 

When it came time to create a poster celebrating our label showcase at the 2011 Bumbershoot Festival, Sonnenzimmer was the natural choice. Putting a spin on the commission, we roped in Michael Cina and asked the designers to collaborate. Mutual fans of each others work, Cina and Sonnenzimmer leapt at the opportunity and worked ping-pong style for one week, passing files back and forth, each day adding one new layer to what became the six-color screen print you see before you.
